AMD
Ryzen 9 9950X3D
The do-everything chip. Sixteen cores for rendering, compiling, and streaming, with the 3D cache that makes it a top-tier gaming part at the same time. It is the right answer when the machine has a second job.
- Best for
- Streaming while you play, video work, compiling, or any workload that actually uses sixteen cores.
- Watch out
- For gaming alone it does not beat the cheaper 8-core X3D parts in a way you will feel, and the split-cache design occasionally needs the right Windows power plan to schedule correctly.
